The Business Ask:

"Transform an existing online medical information reference platform into a native mobile app that librarians and doctors can use to answer their research and care questions."

What I Did:

• Primary use case investigation and persona identification
• Content inventory and content ingestion research, to identify roadblocks
• Identification of MVP and post-MVP features to allow for iterative development approach
• Created Lean Project Plan and managed all phases with product owners
• Created wireframes, designs, and a clickable HTML prototype in Webflow which could be tested on a mobile device, shared out research insights, then delivered final set of revised designs based on user testing for native app development.

3 Things I Learned:

"Turn the website into an app" should never mean porting the full feature set. Identifying primary and secondary user needs was key in keeping budget low.

Designers really can build fully functional mobile HTML prototypes using Webflow without using code.

Involving the product owners in the user testing, even training them on conducting in-person interviews, will turn product folks into UX advocates.
